Do you struggle with noticing when you are hungry, or when you need to sleep? Do you want to support strengthening your personal boundaries? Have you experienced burnout or been diagnosed with CPTSD? Trauma Sensitive Yoga may be a practice to consider.
Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSY) is a movement-based therapeutic practice designed for teens and adults who have experienced childhood or relational trauma. It offers you the opportunity to focus on your own movement, experience and make choices relating to your own personal experience. Research shows that TSY is a stand alone therapy for trauma and is also effective when practiced as part of a treatment plan like talk therapy. You need no prior yoga experience to join. There are no physical requirements for the practice. The movements chosen are based on the needs of the participants who register.
This class is taught by Kathleen in English and is not covered by the subscription of Ananda. Please contact Kathleen before your first practice via an email or phone intake so Kathleen is able to answer any of your questions. An intake is required before your first practice.
Kathleen was trained by the Centre for Trauma and Embodiment at the JRI in Boston. She is a certified Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator in good standing with the Centre for Trauma and Embodiment and an active member of Trauma Sensitive Yoga Nederland.
